It was a pleasure to hear from Marybeth at our recent meeting! 11 women attended and engaged in discussion about the benefits of Arvigo Mayan Abdominal Massage. A word on this practice:
Traditional cultures often taught women various self-care techniques that are lacking in Western culture today. While there is awareness of the need to care for organs such as heart, lungs and digestive tract, there is little mainstream attention given to caring for the uterus and other abdominal organs. Problems related to these organs include: painful periods, difficult pregnancies and birth, endometriosis, fibroids, miscarriages, irregular cycles, infertility, crohn’s disease, organ prolapse, lower back pain, chronic heart burn, to name a few. Women are given little solution other than try medication or consider surgery, neither of which address the underlying issues nor promote overall health. Arvigo Maya Abdominal Massage is an option that does address underlying health issues, such as a displaced uterus, and does promote overall health. In fact, it has been used in traditional cultures to teach both men and women how to care for the organs in the abdomen. As chiropractors primarily work with the alignment of bones, and massage therapists work with muscles, Arvigo Maya abdominal massage practitioners work with ligaments and organs to reduce congestion, increase blood flow, and promote optimal organ function.
